In the last few months, Facebook Advertising has become more and more pixel hungry! While it started with basic conversion pixels, with Website Custom Audiences, people are easily ending up with at least one Facebook Ads pixel in every page of your website.
The problem is making sure you correctly set up all your tracking pixels. Well, Facebook has just solved this problem! With a post on their developer’s blog, Facebook has a Chrome extension to quickly check if Facebook Ads pixels are correctly setup in any page.
Why is it useful?
Because it’ll save you time, money and headaches:
- You’ll no longer have to wait for the first conversions to happen before being sure the conversion pixel is correctly setup
- The quicker you start tracking, the sooner you’ll get meaningful data to optimize your campaigns
- If there are errors, the extension can help you quickly troubleshoot them
- You can spy on your competitors. Just browse their sites and the extension will immediately highlight if they’re using Facebook Ads Website Custom Audiences for retargeting.
How to install and use Facebook Pixel Helper
Getting started is extremely simple. The product right now works only on Chrome, so fire up your browser and simply click this button to get started with the installation process:
Once the Chrome Web Store opens, install the extension using the link on the top right of the window. Once installed, a small </> icon will appear on your Chrome’s bar. When it’s grayed out, it means that no Facebook Ads pixel has been found on the page you’re browsing.
If the extension displays a number, it means that one or more pixels were found on the page. Just click it to show more details and see if any problem was detected with you pixels. Extremely simple and useful!
If you’re a WordPress user, things get even easier: we have a 100% free Facebook Pixel plug-in that install the pixel and allows you to create all sorts of incredible custom audiences unavailable through Facebook’s Power Editor.
