The results are in!
A few weeks ago, we sent out a survey to our Free Trial subscribers, and also put polls on various pages throughout our site and…
…and the answers – for better or for worse- really showed the truth!
Most people like to keep it confidential, but we’re going to be as transparent as possible.
If you missed our first part of the series, don’t read any further. Read this first:
In this post, we’ll go through our Typeform survey answers (sent to our Free Trial subscribers) and our Poll survey (randomized and on various pages on the site).
If you’d like to watch a video breakdown of this post instead of reading, check it out here:
Here’s the naked truth of the results…
Typeform Survey Results
With 122 respondents, we had a good enough sample size to really absorb people’s answers! We’ll go through each question and show you a breakdown (either a table or pie chart) so you can see what a section of AdEspresso Free Trial users are like!
If you’re interested in creating your own Typeform survey, check out their different survey formats here.
1. What describes your business best?
2. What’s your role in the business?
3. How many years of experience do you have with Facebook advertising?
Almost 80% of those who signed up had 2 years or less of Facebook Advertising experience!
4. What are the biggest challenges you face with Facebook advertising?
5. What made you sign up with AdEspresso?
This one surprised us quite a bit: we really haven’t been actively investing into influencer marketing. Massimo did appear on two podcasts recently (Agents of Change & The Art of Paid Traffic), and has done a couple of webinars, but we have yet to reach out to anyone and ask for a “shout out,” referrals, or even inbound links from the bigger marketing gurus. Maybe we should?
6. What’s the one thing that nearly stopped you from signing up?
In line with how we’re trying to re-evaluate how to represent our pricing page, the majority were worried about to the cost of our software. We’re doing some intense quantitive testing right now on the page, and we’ll be able to report back once it’s complete.
As for “Giving Facebook Ad Permission” – although we’ve been a Facebook Marketing Partner for over two years, as of last week, we actually became a Preferred Facebook Marketing Partner! We’re hoping this extra bit of trust and respect from Facebook will transfer over to our Free Trial subscribers!
7. What kind of doubts and hesitations did you have before signing up?
Very similar to the above, these results are helping us realize we need to show (ideally, visually) how much time and how much money you can save with our tool.
8. What kind of questions did you have about AdEspresso before signing up?
9. Anything you’d like to add?
Do you ever see our pop-up polls?
We had (and still have) these implemented to fire on various places on our site, and outside of the people who kept trying to chat with you (it’s not a chat box, but thanks for the life stories), we got some great feedback.
The poll asked one question:
What’s stopping you from signing up for AdEspresso right now?

So what can we pull from all this qualitative data?
It seems that people coming to our site and contemplating to sign up, or people who have signed up, are interesting in the following:
- Live chat
- Direct comparison with competitors
- Better explanation of how AdEspresso can save them time and money with its features
- More visual explanations – possibly a video explainer?
And what’s next?
On the qualitative side, we’re creating a new survey to send to our customers to ask them what they love about AdEspresso. We’ve also been talking with our customer support and pulling up the biggest pain points users have been experiencing.
On the quantitative side, we are still running extensive tests with Visual Website Optimizer. We don’t have enough data quite yet to report back, but when we do, we’ll share it with you.
Have you seen the new site design we’ve been testing? Did you get to fill out a survey yet? If not, feel free to write your answer in the comments!
Hopefully, in two weeks time, we’ll be able to show you even more!
