Facebook changes quickly. New features are added, some features are taken away, and some are changed. As a Facebook Advertising Manager, our goal has always been to provide you with the best way to get the most out of Facebook Advertising.
I’m proud to say that in this quarter, the team did an amazing job both releasing new and unique features as well as keeping up with all the new stuff Facebook has released!
Let’s get started and see all that’s new in AdEspresso!
New Interest Targeting
Interests are still the most used way to target Facebook Advertising all around the world. However, as you know, Facebook’s default targeting has a lot of room for improvement. It doesn’t allow advanced marketers to laser focus their campaigns.
AdEspresso has always been a step ahead and we’ve supported Audience intersection since the beginning. Now we have made it even more powerful.
Not only will you be able to target the intersection of multiple interests, but you’ll also be able to intersect groups of interests and exclude specific ones. This is by far the best way to show your ads exactly to your potential customers!
We’re now moving on to expand support for this kind of advanced targeting to Behaviors, Advanced Demographics and Custom Audiences!
Instagram has all the credential to become the next big thing in the advertising space. It maybe even more effective than Facebook when it comes to reaching millennials.
We worked really hard to support Instagram advertising from the very same day it was made available, and it paid off! The number of campaigns created on Instagram through AdEspresso is skyrocketing.
Of course, Instagram Ads come with all the same great testing, reporting and optimization features that AdEspresso provides for Facebook campaigns.
Lead Generation Ads
Right after Instagram Ads, the new Lead Generation Ads are probably what I’m most excited about as a marketer.
At AdEspresso we do lot’s of advertising to generate leads. Instead of asking users to immediately try our product, we first provide them something valuable (an eBook, our Ads Gallery, webinars, etc.) for free.
The downside of this great strategy has always been that users are reluctant to compile long forms when they’re on the go. And you know how big Facebook is on mobile right now. Excluding it from targeting means missing out on a large slice of Facebook’s audience.
That’s why Facebook released Lead Generation Ads. A new, mobile only, format that allows advertisers to ask users’ data in an easy way.
After clicking the ad, users can answer some multichoice questions and then let Facebook share their personal data (name, email, etc.) with the advertiser.
I’m confident this new format will greatly reduce the cost per conversion to generate leads from mobile advertising.
As a Facebook Marketing Partner, we had early access to this ad unit before anyone else. This allowed us to make it available to all our users the very same day Facebook released it.
New Conversion Pixels
Facebook recently released a new way to track conversions, and it’s pretty sweet! Instead of having to create every single pixel and having to place a specific tracking code each time, you can now have a single tracking code for Conversions and Website Custom Audiences creation.
Using the new pixels in AdEspresso is as simple as using the old ones that are still supported. In the next few days we will also add support for Custom Conversions made through the new pixel.
October marked the switch to the new Facebook’s API v2.4. The biggest change here is probably how the bidding work.
Things got a bit more complicated here. CPC bidding is no longer available for most of the campaign objectives and you’ll now have to select what you want to optimize for and how you want to pay (Impressions, clicks, conversions according to the type of campaign you’re creating).
The new bidding is already supported and we’ll soon release a follow up post to our old Facebook bidding guide to give you some useful hints on how to bid more efficiently.
The new bidding will be released in the next few days!
Better Geo Targeting
We made Geographical targeting even better. You can now include or exclude countries, regions, cities, zip codes from a single field and have a better idea of where you’re displaying your ads.
You can also specify if you want to target people living in a location, traveling there and more. This is going to be really useful for advertising to touristic attractions or local businesses!
Automatic Optimization Improvements
Our Automatic optimization system has been a huge success with more than 50% of the campaigns already using it and getting significant performance improvements.
We now have a dedicated team working on just on this very feature and even if their work is probably less visible, they’re tweaking our algorithm every day, testing different optimization systems and a better recognition of your objectives to dynamically apply the best optimization for you!
Less than three months ago we launched our Gallery of Facebook Ads Examples with 1328 ads.
It’s been a huge success to the point that an army of clones immediately popped up, some of them charging hundreds of dollars for what we offer free.
Today our Gallery is already 5 times bigger with 7,462 Facebook Ads classified for you and easily searchable to find inspiration for your next campaign.
First of all, we’re completing our final hirings and from December we’ll DOUBLE our development team with two clear goals in mind:
- Support Facebook’s new features from day 1
- Innovate, Innovate and more Innovating to provide you with the best solution to maximize your profits from Facebook Advertising.
Here are some of the new features we are working on for you:
- Training: wa want to help you get the most out of AdEspresso and Facebook Advertising. AdEspresso is already the number. 1 resource for learning Facebook Ads. We’re going to become even better.
- Audience Editing: In the next few weeks you’ll be able to edit the audience targeting of your live campaigns to improve them even further.
- Account Dashboard: A dedicated Dashboard for each Advertising account you’re managing. This was one of the most requested feature from Agencies and it’s coming in November!
- API Integration: It’s time for AdEspresso to start opening up to the world. We’ll soon talk with most of the tools in your marketing stack.
Well… with our team doubling we have much more than this in store, but we know you like surprises so stay tuned for some big announcements.
PS: I’d love to hear from you in the comments. What can we do better? How can we save you even more time?
Let me know!
